Community Health Nursing
Community health nurses focus on health promotion and protection, disease prevention, and the health and well-being of individuals, families, communities, populations, and environments. They work in an array of settings including public health departments, schools, camps, clinics, prisons, and group homes/shelters to name only a few. An important role of the community health nurse is to manage resources that support health by co-ordinating care, planning programs, and by developing policies and services with individuals, caregivers, families, communities, populations, other organizations, disciplines, and government(s).
