Neuroscience Nursing

Neuroscience nurses provide care for individuals affected by disorders of the brain and nervous system, which include spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and neurological diseases. Neuroscience nursing is a specialized area of nursing derived from the fields of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, pharmacology, nutrition, rehabilitation, biological science, behavioural and social sciences, and learning theories. These nurses provide care for clients in variety of settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centres, specialized physicians offices, and ambulatory care facilities.

For registered nurses, the Canadian Nurses Association offers the following certification credential: CNN(C) - Certified in Neuroscience Nursing Canada
